STATUS OF CLAIMS ADMINISTRATION
Update November 2025: Payments were issued on November 14, 2025 via e-Transfer or cheque to approved claims in the Distribution. The security answer to Interac e-Transfers which were issued is your Birthday Month (for example, January, June, December in full-text; not Jan, Jun, Dec).
E-Transfer payments are valid for 30 days and cheques will be valid for 3 months after issuance. If you enter the wrong answer three times, your payment will be blocked. If you are having trouble and make two errors while typing in the Security Answer, please email the Claims Administrator at [email protected] If the payment expires you will forfeit your compensation.
SUMMARY
A class action lawsuit was commenced against Canadian All Care College (CACC) on behalf of students who were enrolled in the DMS Program between November 4, 2019, and November 9, 2022. The lawsuit alleges that the program failed to meet regulatory requirements, causing financial and educational harm to students. The parties have reached a settlement which was approved by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on May 27, 2025. The defendant did not admit liability and agreed to settle the case without admission of wrongdoing;
Are you a part of the Settlement?
You are included in the class proceeding and eligible to make a claim if you were enrolled in the DMS program at CACC at any time between November 4, 2019, and November 9, 2022. Eligible Class Members must submit a claim during the 90-day claims period, which runs from June 27, 2025 to September 25, 2025 at 5:00PM (EST). The Claims Deadline has been extended to October 2, 2025 at 5:00PM (EST). You must submit your claim before the Claims Deadline. Claims submitted after the deadline will not be eligible for compensation. Verita will provide you with a unique Claim ID and PIN to securely access the online Claims Portal. You will then complete the claim form online through Verita’s Claims Portal. Class Members will have the option to receive their compensation via e-transfer or cheque, based on their selected payment method when submitting the claim. If you are a Class Member and do not submit a claim, you will not receive compensation but will still be bound by the settlement.
Summary of Settlement Benefits
The defendant has paid the sum of $1,400,000 to resolve the claim. Each Class Member will receive an estimated $450 per month enrolled in the DMS program, subject to the number of Class Members claims during the claim period (net of approved legal fees, HST, disbursements, and administrative costs).
